Man, I thought I was all clever because I was going to write that. Now I don't feel clever at all.

Read from page 1, of course. That way when everyone who started at the class section starts screaming about game balance, I can point out to them all the things they missed because they read out of order.

Use it as a shield when my wife starts throwing things at me for spending money on yet another gaming book that I can't use since I don't have a gaming group.

Oh, and download the errata.

I'm SO glad rubbing it all over Whizbang's naked body wasn't a poll option. :p
Skim through the books (first PHB, then MM, then DMG) then (when I get the time) start reading from page 1 the PHB followed by the DMG, with various references to the MM. No way can I take that week off, though.

I'll probably read the new racial descriptions/origins, then start "flicking" and looking at the pretty pictures and reading random bits and bobs, then go back to the beginning and read from there. I voted skimming, because I think that's closest.

Going to stat up that pally of the raven queen eh Stormtalon? ;)

Anyhow, I will flip immediately to the classes section and give them a through read through!

Mmm, could be, but more likely will be working furiously on the 4E campaign I'm going to be DMing. Already have the town and environs worked out, plus a couple of cave complexes drawn. All that really needs done is populating them and throwing in hints of plot.

And.... aww damn. Just realized I need to tweak some stuff around the town after some of the revelations in R&C. Guess that'll keep me somewhat busy until release....

I'll read through the player's handbook, and then read selected chapters of the DMG. After that, I'll probably start making characters and see what sorts of questions develop, rereading the pertinent sections. And then (probably the next day, depending on text density and character generation time) I'll maybe try to put together a pick-up game with people at the FLGS using the characters that I've created...

Sit around the table with my friends, each digging into different sections, so every two minutes one of us can look up and say "Dude, they fixed <pet problem here>! Page 182!" I enjoy soaking in a new edition in the presence of people who like to discuss it.
