What will you/do you use for marks?

For fighters, at least, all "mark" means is "who did I attack last round?"

Remembering this bit of info is pretty easy. :)

I don't think it's quite that simple. There is nothing that prevents a fighter from having multiple marks (that we know of). For instance Kathra can use Passing Attack against two hobgoblins, and use an action point to attack a third hobgoblin, wracking up three marks in one turn. In 10 rounds of combat, things can get rather messy (though fortunately you don't have to worry about the dead). If enemies are marking PC's also, the DM can have a difficult time remembering who marked who.

I think it will have to be player responsibility to remind the DM when a creature they marked is being activated. It will also be player responsibility to remember it when the DM says they've been marked by a creature, and to take the necessary penalty if attacking a different creature.

And all the rounds prior.

Marks from Fighters remain until over-written by another mark, or until either the Fighter or target drops.

I also have a group with several forgetful folks. Visual aids have helped out our game immensely.

I cut up a 1" and 2" dowel rod into quarter inch chunks and am painting up "sets" of them with different coats of arms on each.
