It sounds like you want the homebrew. So do it. Homebrews are the best worlds to play in, as long as you have the time and patience to devote them. They become yours and your players' far more easily than published settings. So do it. If you're not ready, take a while longer in FR. Build a nice long story arc leading to the PCs going to your world, let them rap some things up before they go. This buys you some time to get some basics ready. Good luck, and have fun!

Have you thought about d20 Smurfs? Because of their size you only need to create a small part of your world and there is already a super villain. Almost all of the work is done for you.

LOL KtT

Maybe I should point out that I like the work of world-building. It's just that working OT with rotating days off, being an officer in my union and being an officer in a very active veterans' organization, along with just keeping up with life keeps me busy. I often don't have the time or inclination to work on my world.

Humor is appreciated but uninformed sarcasm is below the belt IMHO. Please contribute something constructive. I'm taking the input here seriously. Like...

Just my .02

Hadn't heard of it. Took a look in the reviews section. I like that it's adaptable to various styles of play. Will add it to my list of "possibles." Thanks.

Use the stuff on my site. It's around 80 pages of stuff and it is free. Plus, if you promise to use my stuff, I promise to update my site by midnight. Deal?

OK BG, I did say I was serious earlier. I took quite a bit of time and checked out your site and it's obvious you've put a ton of thought and work into it and done a bang-up job. Aside from the format being too fragmented for my use, your "world" isn't developed enough. What you've done is excellent but too localized to be what I'm looking for. Please, though, don't let my curmudgeoness stop you from updating your site by midnight! :D Thanks for the link and the tour. Good stuff in there.

Bluffside is great as the 'home base' for a party, you can easly drop it into any setting. Lots of hooks to keep you game going. It takes on the flavor you give it.

Scarred Land is a wonderful world setting, more fantasy and epic feel. It has grit, it has wonder, it is alive.

KoK is a well detailed gaming world and I would say the more realistic (if possible with a fantasy game) than FR. Books have great detail and lots of information but they read like tech manuals (at least to me).

Harn, is this d20? I love the maps but I do not like the setting, just too middle ages for me.

Hmm....well it all depends. Did you graduate Highschool Bloody mage?? Maybe an associates degree maybe? I've been told Harn is a little too difficult for anyone who hasn't earned an English Degree!!! :D

Bloodymage is a pinhead from way back. More college than most PhDs and no lambskin! Ooh, how I love knowledge! Nuthin' better than down 'n' dirty, though.
