Depends on what you come back as. If you come back as a dire lion, then yeah, I think its kinda safe to assume your ECL will go up a touch.

Silenced metamagic feat could do it if your shape allowed the proper somatics... if not you would need Stilled spell also...

I have the Dragon magazine where they assigned ECLs to all the monster manual creatures, but it says I would have a ECL of 10 and I really don't agree with that value.

OK. So rule 0 it. OH! Wait! You're a player! That sucks dude. Seriously though, ask your DM if he agrees with the ECL. I can tell you this much, I sure as hell agree with it. A brown bear/barbarian10 would be really nasty.

I also rule as DM that Limited Wish, Greater Restoration, Miracle and Wish can give you back your original form after being reincarnated. See if your DM will give you the option of questing to get one of these spells cast on you. You'd need to quest for the natural spell thingy anyways, unless someone in your group already has the feat and can craft the item you need (having the feat is a definite prerequisite). That's my suggestion, anyways.

Alright, first off I don't think Natural Spellcasting will help you. Pretty sure that's limited to druidic spells. Don't have my books with me so I can't check.

About the ECL thing. That is for character creation only. To adjust your level now would be really, really stupid and unfair. Also, the ECL thing assumes that any animals on that list are awakened. So you don't fall into that category.

Silent, Stilled spells should work.

Try and make a break for shifter prestige class. You'll get back
to your 'normal' form eventually. That would work.

Get Polymorph Other'ed into a humanoid form. Watch out for Dispel magics though.

About the ECL thing. That is for character creation only. To adjust your level now would be really, really stupid and unfair.

Techinically, the character is being recreated. Some of your stats change, thus your saves change, what you are capable of changes (by default, you can't cast spells as a bear), and you gain new abilities (those of your new form).

Your argument about "adjusting the character's ECL now is unfair", well, they should have been resurrected if they don't like it. Also, your argument about this being "stupid" is not an argument at all, but a whining, crying, desperate, declaration of "No fair! " So, if you have anything more too add besides "It's stupid.", then by all means share your insight.

I'm fine with the reincarnation it was cheap and I can kind of fix it with a scroll of polymorph other. Besides it will make for some interesting role playing.

Right now I don't have the cash to buy the scroll of polymorph other so it will have to wait.

My Dm says it can be fixed with a limited wish or wish spell.

My ECL went up by 3 but my DM will facter in that I can't use any spells but verbal. If I have my familiar with me I can also use components.

+15 Str +2 Dex and +8 Con is not a bad thing right now.



Another question for you guys though.
What should I have myself polymorphed into?

As long as your DM is ignoring/fudging ECL, it doesn't really matter. How about a Tarrasque? Or a Titan? Or a 56 Hit Die Balor?
