I think on the whole I'd prefer the rags-to-riches approach of starting low-level.

I'm fine with starting low, as long as we can get a higher level.

the problem with starting low is that campaigns take a while to reach high level even when they're NOT PBP. Even the PBP games that do last a long time don't usually level very fast. Now, I'm not saying that this game won't last, just that like all other PBP's, it's gonna be a slow leveling process. When a single combat can take anywhere from a couple days to a month...

How about a game where the group is a team of professional gladiator performers, famous throughout all the land, but then on the side they solve mysteries and rescue princesses. Oooh yeah!

Well we have enough spare interest that it might be simplest just to take a vote to see who prefers low and who prefers high.

I'm personally voting for low.
