I voted for my druther. But since It'll be part of part 2 (should I get selected), I can't tell you what it is.

I can say that my setting has a major villain. A race of villains rather. A decidedly different take on an old favorite. Which race? That's for me to know and you to fret about.:D

(Aint I just vile?:p )

I had to vote for more unexplored area... a place the PC's can make their own, and not have twenty supliments placed on top of it.

Oh and if givent the chance... dump the standard race array. I for one am very tired of Elves, dwarves, hobbits, gnomes its high time for something new.... or only human.

I'd be leery of some of these answers. No elves in an official D&D campaign setting? Not likely. More wilderness to explore/less supplements? Well, that's going to happen no matter what, unless the setting takes off like FR did.

I personally think (and this is only MY speculative theory/opinion) that Monte Cook and his Malhavoc Press might do Planescape, since it was his baby.

Fluff!

I voted other because I want fluff. I want a rich and detailed history and loads of ideas and hooks to immerse my players in. I want them to feel like they are a part of this world and that what they do MATTERS (I know, a good DM can do this anyway...) I want very detailed cities and NPCs galore for my players to interact with. And, I want it to be entertaining. A setting that reads like a novel, I guess. Yeah, I can hear the moans already: It's been done, look at all the Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms novels and games based on novels. You're right of course. But then again this contest is asking for a fantasy world. What I want most is something totally new that I could never have thought of. The prospect of just another generic sword and sorcery world doesn't really get my heart pounding. Best of luck to all who are reaching for their dreams. :)

Well, presumably like other settings such as Dark Sun, Mystara, Birthright, Spelljammer, etc, it tanked. Or wasn't that successful.

I know PS has some pretty hard core fans, but so do all the others. But how popular were the supplements in general? Or it's books? Or it's computer games?

It seems like WOTC is looking like a mega-popular setting. Like Greyhawk was originally. Or Forgotten Realms. or Dragonlance. I mean, novels for the last two hit the NYTimes bestsellers list.

The Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms computer games sold 100,000s of copies (at least, some of them). I think Planescape: Torment sold about 30,000 copies (despite being a great game and getting wonderful reviews).

Personally, I think they should just try to license Final Fantasy (or Chronotrigger), or hire a Japanese console RPG game designer. But

...

As said by a poster above, I'd like more fluff, what happens, why things happen, who's who in the gameworld, what places are there, etc, etc, etc...

I'd rather get more adventure hooks than game mechanics (though that's fine as well)
