This poll needs another option: I have no dog and don't intend to get one anytime soon.

I thought you were asking how much I'd pay for a nice coat custom-tailored from a dog.

I have knitted dog coats for designers and got paid $20 to $35 for knitting fairly complex cabled patterns. It worked out to about $5 an hour. This was in addition to the cost of the yarn. Some of these were done in cashmere and sold for over $150 in the fancy boutiques. Do not devalue your work. Make sure you are making a fair hourly wage.Kahuna Burger said:Assuming you had a dog, and assuming you were already inclined to buy a coat for your dog, of either the "horse blanket" or "back velcroed" style, how much extra would you pay for a coat that was custom fitted to your dog, in a choice of say 5-7 colors?
