Whats a player to do?

Did I mention he is a stubbern man. I figure there is a good 50% chance that he will take it badly. With no other DM's around to take up the slack it could very well mean no gaming for a long while. I know I need to tell him but if I'm blunt about it I may end up with no gaming which would be much worse.

You need to get in the habit of (a) deciding what you want, and (b) telling the universe what you want. Clearly, confidently, and diplomatically. I've been surprised how much better my life has gotten since doing that. I wish I'd started much sooner.

Here's a thought for the OP: One of you guys that are currently playing should just offer to run an Eberron game. If none of you have DMed ever before, you can just have the current DM help you along. And, you have to learn sometime. Plus, DMing is a whole different type of fun
