I voted for something else. At this point she is just stripped of paladinhood. She could go in any one of many different directions. She could even go on a respec quest and gain fighter levels :p . Seriously though, I think Rich has a surprise up his sleeve that nobody will expect.

What should happen is for once Rich should write her like a person instead of a Lawful Annoying paladinbot
Because nobody in real life is an arrogant self-righteous prick. :\

Felix,

Maybe but I think then if that happens she should take the same Pr-class as Elan.
She doesn't meet the prerequisites. After all, it's called Dashing Swordsman, not Dashing Swordsperson. ;)

Sure, evil can challenge and make a showing (like LotR), but in the end I want the ring destroyed. I want Tanis Half-elven to save the day. And I want Miko to admit what she did was wrong and be forgiven and rise to a newer height of glory than she ever could have gone without understanding her major character flaw.

"Good" will triumph in the end wether Miko turns evil or not, because she isn't a protagonist in this story. To use your own analagy, Miko turning evil wouldn't be any different that Saruman turing evil- it's just another obstacle for real good guys to overcome.

I believe you are correct, although I should say that it is not necessarily so. Rich could make OotS into a dark campaign as Xykon comes in, defeats Azure City, and resurrects OotS, Miko, Shojo, Hinjo, etc ... as his own private undead army. Not that I think this will happen, but we have no guarantee that good is going to triumph.

I theory, you are correct. In practice, I disagree. Yes, Saruman turned evil. But we never knew Saruman as a "good guy." We know that his history has good guy elements. But in LotR we never see them. With Miko, the thing that made Miko vs. OotS conflict spectacular was that it was two sides of good at odds. I know I am in the minority, but I often found myself on Miko's side rather than OotS.

Miko turning evil (which I hope she doesn't) would be more personal than Saruman turning evil, because we not only knew Miko as having a good past ... we knew her when she was good (In spite of her being the adversary to the party).

I think the "die redeeming herself" option is probably spot on. She's been stripped of her powers just as Xykon is about to invade. What better way to atone for her misdeeds than to die defending the city she professes to serve? The only reason I think that won't happen is because it makes too much sense and Rich is pretty good at throwing us the occasional curveball.

I expect that she will turn to evil, either in association with Xykon, Nale or simply declare war on everybody. That part I'm not bothered about.

However, whatever she does after another 400 strips or so she will, in the climactic battle, turn back to good and redeem herself in a way which turns the tide.

She will then humbly confess her sins and beg forgiveness, while at the same time confessing her love for Roy.

Belkar will then kill her, either accidentally as an unintended consequence of a chain of freak events set off by a random act of violence or selfishness he committed 50 frames earlier, or because he doesn't know she's turned back, or just because he's Belkar.

Her clothes turn back to blue as she dies.

Done.

She'll go into denial, swear to destroy OotS, continue to fight for her perception of "good", and join the Linear Guild ... and get soloed by Belkar. Not necessarily in that order.

She wakes up and we find out that everything's been a dream (like that season of Dallas) or she locks horns with Xykon but just as the final blow is to be struck, she is flung into the distant future where Xykon's word is LAW! Now the foolish ex-samurai seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Xykon.

Hrm. How about the Scooby Doo ending? Roy pulls off Mr. Scruffy's mask and reveals him to be Old Man Smithers. How about the Gone With the Wind ending (Miko carrying Shojo in her arms) or the Thelma and Louise ending (Miko and Belkar going over a cliff)? Maybe just go with the happy ending where she hooks up with Garth and go save the tv station. We're not worthy! We're not worthy! We're not worthy!

Dunno. In any case, I'm thinking she's got to eat a huge plate of crow first like her initial behavior towards the Order, Roy in particular, setting up a bizarre love triangle (Roy, Celia and Miko).
