Glass is common.

It is now but once glass was very expensive and only used for fine items. A friend of mine who is a member of the British nobility (his fathers an Earl) has some glass globes from the Crusaders which at the time were apparently more valuable than the same weight in gold. Thats why IMC glass items are considered major treasures and windows would be rare indeed

(even irl sheet glass wasn't common until the 1900's)

A dead robin, a canned ham, and a ball of string. Sorry...that's an inside joke from WAAY back in my gaming career. It's become the default "you don't find a thing" answer when a player asks to loot something.

But we are talking a fantasy world where there are things like glass elementals/golems, magic, and a higher tech level due to that not a real world setting. ;)

Here's most of what's specifically on the Table 7-12D: Thieves' Tools, from Goods and Gear: the Ultimate Adventurer's Guide (PDF preview). Naturally, I'm not going to post the full texts. :)

And obviously, a thieves' kit doesn't hold all of this. It's usually just such items as locksmithing tools, skeleton keys, small hammers and picks.

In D&D, it will likely contain some other stuff that helps with magic traps. Exactly what, I'm not sure of, but it will probably be in there. Perhaps some chalk to modify runes, or stuff like that.

Death Knife!?!?

It's like a normal knife, only with more death built in.

Nah, a death knife is basically a 'gotcha'. Looks like a hairbrush, or a comb, or a shaving mirror, or some other innocent-looking item, and it's got a spring-loaded knife blade built in. Concealed, of course.

Looks like nothing worth worrying about, until you're up close, press the catch and then BAM! you make with the old fork in the eye. Er, knife in the eye. Whatever. Lets you get the drop on 'em, ya see. All sneak attack like.

After that it's just a normal knife with a goofy lookin' handle.
