What's new with the GSL?

Really the GSL has only one purpose in the business model WotC needs to create with 3rd party publishers.

It needs to make the 3rd parties want to put the GSL log on their stuff and be bound to WotC and therefore provide free advertising.

If the GSL doesn't do this due to its arcane nature than people will just file the serial numbers off since you can't copyright the rules themselves, only the explanations and IP.

The longer the GSL takes to come out the more likely someone will produce a version of 4e that is OGL.

He could just say that and give us a date, too.

Dude, be cool.

Scott has been amazingly open through every step of the process. He's only part of the GSL process and when he says he's submitting his part, we as fans/consumers owe him enough respect to believe him. With any contractual agreement, its gotta move through lawyers before anything can be revealed.

And lawyers don't give deadlines. They send invoices so you know they're finished. :)

He could just say that and give us a date, too.

In case you didn't read the rest of the thread, Scott's working on it. That's the point of giving us these updates... he's getting there but he's not quite there yet. If he can give us an actual date, he would, but considering what's on his plate, it won't be tomorrow.

I was rather stunned when our Hastings got in 2-3 copies each of all the 4E adventures from Goodman games (Except for the Saga of the Dragon Cult, you would not have known Goodman existed during the 3E years here in Huntsville, Texas.)

That's good to hear.

There is more 4E goodness on the way. :)

is here anything more from you on the metamorphosis series on the way? that was a great series.

Thanks

Morrus and I talked about doing a 4E update for the books, but since demons and devils are not in the GSL, there's really no way to do that. I've got a couple of ideas kicking around about the series, but ultimately, the future of Metamorphosis lies with EN Publishing, since they own the rights.
