What's Next?

Frost & Fur

Any chance Frost & Fur will be out sooner then December?

I'm almost finished with the Nordic chapter. At this point, each chapter is starting to look like it's own game supplement.

After the Nordic chapter is finished (probably in a week or so), it's on to the Ice Age chapter. I can't imagine this beast will be finished before December...

but it will be worth the wait.

So Hal, any word on Dry Sands and possibly when the River Runs Deep? Those were some adventures/sourcebooks I want to see more of.

Does the Mongoose ever sleep?

Its hard to predict a hit or the Next Big Thing before its released, often one can only hope and wonder. I'm sure every publisher hopes for a big hit with every release (if not why release it).

Of course Nightfall:
Interludes: Sands of Pain will be out October 2002
Dry Lands will be December 2002, it is in finals now...and River Runs Deep keeps getting pushed back BUT we have the rough and it looks great and needs work and art so maybe mid 2003...and we do not know exactly what to do with it, it is kinda a big thing....we need to see what to do.

I've got a few projects going, which could get released in 2003.

Dragon Earth: Modern day D&D. Kobolds running hotels and ogres as traffic court judges. Hunt vampires in the crypts below New Orleans or explore the jungle overrunning the cursed city of Hue.

To support Dragon Earth I have:

Dragon Earth: San Diego: My home town as a Dragon Earth setting. Green dragon rangers in the Cleveland National Forest. Restless revenants from the Golden Lotus (Imperial Chinese battleship sunk off the Point Loma coast during the Great War [1933-1941]).

Walking with Dragons: A monster book dealing with the dragons of Dragon Earth. Expanding on the information found in the Monster Manual and, if possible, that found on dragons in Oriental Adventures and the Psionics Handbook web enhancement. Loads of draconic goodness.

(WwD Teaser: Hatchlings can 'breathe', but have no effective control over it. This makes abducting a hatchling a hazardous business, especially for the inexperienced. About once an hour there is a 5% chance [a "20" on a d20] that the infant will breathe. Anyone holding a dragon hatchling will take the rolled damage, with no chance for a Save. Those not holding the infant, but in the area of effect, can make a Save to see if they take half damage. In times of stress [such as during a kidnap attempt] the hatchling may breathe 20% of the time [17-20 on a d20) about once a minute. In the latter case the infant can breathe two or three times before having to "recharge". This recharging taking about an hour. It is thought by some that this propensity is what has led to dragons becoming immune to their own breath weapon.)

OK, now you have me intrigued. You publishing this yourself, or writing or someone? PDF or hardcopy?

This sounds very, very cool. Is it a D20 Modern product?

The line will be d20 Modern. Self published in PDF at the start. I'm thinking of doing a Walking with Dragons subscription deal where the customer can get each dragon as it's released. Should WwD ever get released in print, then it'll be redone to avoid duplication of information.

Where I go with the whole thing depends on the response.
