When they get it right in the comics, it's a shame that they feel the need to change it. Any other way will cheapen it for those of us who know how it truely happened.
It's one thing if the comic story is good. IMO, Secret Wars was kinda...bleh.;)

I'm really hoping for Doc Oct. He's simple to set up, they did that in less then one comic book. He's also the former of the Sinster Six which would make a great Spiderman 5!!

Getting ahead of ourselves a little aren't we? They gotta make 2, 3, and 4 first. :)

I thought it was great, but that just shows people have different opinions. And that's okay. I'd just hate for them to change the whole story of how Venom came to be. Luckily with Spidy, you have many, many villains to choose from.

Venom has become such a popular character, I have to wonder how they can ignore him. I bet we get a modified or abbreviated origin for him and see him ASAP in the movie series.

And I like Carnage even better, but you've got to do Venom first, right?

I would love them to use the Lizard and Doc Oc. I could see them having them work together also. Peraps Doc Oc somehow controling the Lizard and using him basically as a weapon.

One thing I would love to see them do is have an opening montage (or however its spelled) showing him fighting various minor villians. Such as Electro, the Shocker, Rhino, Sandman, HydroMan and such types of villians. Just to show that things have been happening. Just a thought.

Don't forget Mysterio!

*HoV is soundly beaten by many EN*Worlders*

Ouchie......

Anyway, just thought I'd throw in my 2 coppers and say that, yes, I've heard Doc Ock & Lizard will be in Spider-Man 2, and neither of them would really need much more set-up than Norman Osborn/Green Goblin got....

And if the do do Venom (which they really, REALLY should), the origin for Venom shown in the FOX Spider-Man cartoon would work fine (since, as was said, the Secret Wars/comic origin would take forever and a year to do). Plus, a shuttle launch could throw Jon Jameson (J. Jonah Jameson's son) into the mix, and if Jon got hurt as Spidey tried rescuing him, it'd give J.J.J. another reason to hate the Wall-Crawler...

I don't see Vulture showing up in any movie, since he was so very frail and old for most of the comics... Rhino and Sandman would be do-able, but maybe only as a 'cameo' villain (such as in the montage someone mentioned previously [I see Kane Hodder as Rhino])... Electro & Shocker would be in the same league as Rhino & Sandman ('cameo' villains) [though if they changed Electro's origin slightly, made him a classmate of Parker's who was jealous of his intelligence, then was in an empowering electrical accident...] Chameleon might make a good villain, either as mastermind or favored lackey... Kingpin's already being done in the Daredevil movie, so I highly doubt we'll see him... hope they DON'T have Jackal, since that'd introduce that whole twisted "Spider-Clone" saga... gah, too many ideas!!!!!

Would you be disappointed even if the Venom story line was changed, but it was done well? I think that it would be cool to have Spider-Man wearing the black suit throughout the majority of the second movie. Only at the end of that movie will he find out what it truly is, thus setting the stage for the Venom story.

About you liking Secret Wars- That's ok. I liked some of the stuff from the new Clone Saga, and we all know what that turned into. :D
