What's the best solo build?

Favoured Soul/Warmage is a nice combo if you want a tank and an arcane and a divine spellcaster. Decent weapon profs, decent armour, good spells, and so on. Throw in a bit of Mystic Theurge and you're set :D Also, spellcasting is based off of Cha now, so no MADness ;)

This is gonna be my next charcater. Leading up to WM4/FS4/Barb1/MysThe x

even as a 1st level WM he is fairly sociable, has +5 search and +5 disarm traps, and a few knowledge skills at +4/+5. Doing d4+4 with an always hitting magic missile at that level sorts out combat and if it gets tricky even acid splash does d3+4 with PBS.

still not 100% whether to go WM 1st or FS

scout is also a good choice as u dont have to worry about slow/noisey party members and its just oozes 'loner' somewhat like the warlock does

Sweet! Yeah, I've heard this build is pretty decent, but I have not yet had the chance to try it our. I think it'd be a great roleplaying dreadnaut. An elf in FR would likely be my choice :) Tons of great spell-slinging pious elves there :D

cheers,

Now Warforged sounds like a really fun idea. I've always been a fan of the race but haven't had the opportunity to play one. Seems like the "doesn't have to sleep" aspect could be very useful too. You never have to worry about something cutting your throat while you're snoring away alone in the woods.

Skill points can make up for the Cha social penalty. And Artificers can kick butt; don't they have a spell or ability that lets them improve their personal weapon?

So maybe a Warforged Artificer / Chameleon? The Chameleon needs Able Learner, which is Human-only, but can be house ruled (the different chameleon effects can be different docent modules).

Any build suggestions?

One problem you're going to run into if you want to make a character that is very capable in many different regards is multiple ability dependency (MAD), so watch out for that. Some ideas I like are:

Ninja/Ranger/Cleric/Chameleon - Totally Wisdom run character with amazing versatility.

Beguiler/Warblade/Jade Phoneix Mage - Depends on multiple abilities (although you can make it mostly just CHA, INT, and DEX), but fills combat/magic/face/trapfinding.

Ive got to go with paladin. A good warrior, can heal himself, good social skills, good saves, a companion to help with certain situations, and great rp opprotunities.

That sounds totally kickass. So how did it end?

Well, with the player character out of the way, the older brother came back to reclaim his rightful place as chieftan, and was embraced by the tribe because he convinced them that his father banished him because the father was planning to join with a nearby tribe on really bad terms. This was easy to do because he was obviously alive, so the father lied to the tribe when he told them his oldest son was dead. Firmly entrenched as Chieftan, the brother put a bounty out on his traitorous brother (the player character) and even enlisted the help of the neighboring tribe which made things even tougher for the player. At some point, the player caught a break. As is usually the case with power hungry egomaniacs, the older brother forgot about those who helped him rise to the top. One of his buddies actually helped in the assassination. He helped to get the chieftan alone and vulnerable by distracting the chieftan's bodyguards. But the older brother cast him aside, and eventually he got pissed enough to leave the tribe. The accomplice was eventually found by the player, and by that time, he had worked his way in pretty good with a rival tribe that had since relocated. They had an axe to grind with the older brother as he had helped the neighboring tribe run them out. So the player sided up with some members of the rival tribe and, armed with the new information, returned to confront his brother and his tribe. The player tricked his older brother into admitting some details of the assassination and the tribal council exploded. There was an instant division in the tribe and there was almost a civil war. To show the tribe that the gods approved of him being chieftan, the player offered his rightful place at the throne in a battle for the throne with his older brother. It was a pretty long battle as it was hand-to-hand, but the player prevailed. To show the tribe that he meant business and would make a decisive and firm chieftan, he ruled that the punishment for his treacherous brother was to be dragged to death. Oh, and the player, just to be sure, rode the horse himself. That seemed like a fitting end to that campaign because this particular player didn't have any actual interest in becoming a political leader in a campaign, so we just closed the book on the campaign, picturing the player's character riding off into the sunset, with just a little bit of his brother, following closely after.

Psion X (telepath or nomad) can deal with pretty much anything.

1 level in a class that grants trapfinding would help you deal with traps if you are dungeon delving.

See if your DM will let you make a Gestalt character. Essentially you get 2 classes and get to level them up at the same time and get the best benefits of both. It gives you a bit more power and capability.
