What's the best you've ever gotten for your buck in gaming products?

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay - nothing comes close. I have not run a regular WFRP campaign since D&D 3.0 came out, but I still have not touched the number of hours I used that one book.

2nd place - D&D corebooks - PHB 1st, MM 2nd, DMG 3rd

Book I got yesterday, that I am surprisingly pleased with
Shadows over Bogenhafen. This is a Warhammer module. I got it for my GT d20 Warhammer campaign, at a discount price (10$ instead of 20$). I got more pleasure out of it than Beyond Countless Doorways that I purchased full price. This Warhammer module has very few WHRP game mechanics (only three or four pages of stat-blocks), so no wasted paper for me; then it has background description (the Empire), some adventures, and nice handhout to give to players (won't have to do them myself). This book will indeed see a heavy use in my forthcoming Warhammer d20 campaign. I plan to buy another book like this at discounted price!

Congratulations sir - you have purchased one of the finest RPG modules of all time!

As pogre said, one of the best RPG modules of all time. I didn't put the Enemy Within series down as I was a player in them, but this series of adventures is superb!

  • Unearthed Aracna (am I the only fan of this lovely, lovely book?)

Oh, no, indeed you are not. It was the product that finally came along that made me say to myself "I'm finally sated on d20; I don't have to have another book for the game." A really great book, one of 3e/3.5's best from WotC.

Next time I go to the FLGS, I plan to buy another of their discounted WFRP modules (splatbooks). Do you know of other titles that would be as good as this one? And of the modules that directly follow Shadows over Bogenhafen? (I mean: I have a spaltbook containing Shadows over Bogenhafen + The Enemy Within). Thanks.

I'd have to say the Players Option Series in 2nd Ed. I still reference them for game design. Other products that I have gotten a lot of use out of:

-ETools
-Unearthed Arcana

Non-RPG:

-Mordheim

Wow, I want to start going to your game store! Where did you muster that deal?
Hehe. Well, around the same time the boxed set was open for preorder, someone on this board posted about a deal where if you test drive a VW, you get a free $50 gift certificate for Amazon.
Amazon stuff is usually discounted anyway, plus the preorder discount, plus free shipping due to the order being over 25 dollars, plus the gift certificate...

It would have been more, but right before Amazon shipped the preorders they dropped the price again, but not on my order. I e-mailed them and pointed out that one of the benefits of pre-ordering (in this case about four months in advance) was getting a better price than Johnny-come-lately. So they took the new price into account when they billed me and I ended up paying $3.97.

The VW dealership never bothered to have me test drive the car either... they just stamped my form and sent me on my way. :D
This is one of the very, very few times anything has worked out for me. :(
I'm sure someone will step in to try and make me feel guilty about taking sales away from my FLGS, but I don't have one... The money it would have cost in gas and taxes for me to get the books at the closest game store would have been at least three times what I paid for the books!

Best value: Not counting the free downloads, best value were the 1e Player's Handbook and DMG. I'm about to wear out my third set of these and I will happily pay top money for a fourth.

1st printing 3e PHB, cause it was super cheap and ultra useful. My copy got used literally nearly continuously by myself and my five roommates for about 1 1/2 years, then kept up its average until the revision came out.
