Well that depends what kind of dictionary, from which english-speaking country and from which time period we are talking about... ;)

Group is boring, but seems to be universal.

I could see "Gygax of" coming into popular usage though. :D

Funny you should mention that, since a group of friends I hung out with in Anchorage, Alaska called themselves that. You wouldn't, by chance, be from those parts, would you?

For my vote, I think I would go with a 'Din' of gamers, in reference to the noise.

"Table" would help to distinguish pen 'n' pencil gamers from LARPers. Perhaps the collective noun for LARPers could be "action", "company" or "boffer".

Table get's my vote.
