I'm making some baddies for the next adventure and want "the most powerful."

What's the most powerful non-spellcasting class through 10th level? (non-spellcasting includes psionic and other types of magic)

edit: [see list of classes in post #3]

Well, when you take out spellcasting that eliminates most of the core classes right away. You are left with Barbarian, Fighter, Monk, and Rogue. For the purposes of a single fight a Barbarian can deal out some damage. If you want to go sneaky, and make the PCs use up resources, a Rogue/Fighter focused on ranged attacks and traps can pick away at the PCs almost forever.

Here's what I've got for a list of non-spellcasting classes:

Barbarian
Fighter
Monk
Rogue
Expert UA
Knight PHB2
Ninja Cadv
Ranger Variant CW
Samurai CW
Scout CAdv
Swashbuckler CW
Warrior UA

I like the idea of the rogue-fighter.

I would go with a barbarian/rogue, very smart, with strong leadership. Have him or her run them through hoops, traps, always one step ahead of them, then they have to beat all of the minions--who kick major but because they are vicious, raging, sneak-attacking barbarian rogues also, only more of them at lower levels. Then they meet the ringleader and... well whatever you want to do with it. The fighter would work, too, for the feats, but I just like the barbarian/rogue combo. Seems scarier. :D

Don't forget the Soulknife from the XPsiHandbook. No spells, only abilities are straightforward enhancements to the mindblade.
Even if you don't have this book, it's in the SRD.

If by "Most Powerful" you mean highest potential damage dealing capacity, I'd have to go with either rogue, scout, or barbarian.

If by "Most Powerful" you mean most abilities and options, I'd go with either Monk, Knight, Dragon Shamn, or Scout.

If by "Most Powerful" you mean best defensive capability, I'd honestly have to go with either Fighter of Knight

Given the fact that out of thos three categories, both Scout and Knight show up twice, I'd go with one of those two.

One fairly scary build is the generic warrior from UA, with Favored Enemy for all 6 of the bonus feats. Each time you take it, you get a +2 to an already-selected enemy. This means your 10th level character can have +12 to damage and Bluff, Listen, Sense Motive, Spot, and Survival versus Humanoid (Human), in addition to the full BAB progression and d10 hit dice. If elves and half-elves are very popular in your party, you can use Humanoid (Elf) instead. If your party is six different characters of six different races ... well, try something else.

Alternately, since you're getting a big bonus to Bluff, take +4d6 sneak attack as two of your bonus feats, and settle for +8 to damage and the skills. If you do this, you simply must spend two of your normal feats on Combat Expertise -> Improved Feint.

Barbarian 5/ fighter 2/ rogue 3 is a good combo.
You get evasion, uncanny dodge, rage 2/day, trap sense bonuses, 2d6 sneak attack, good skill choice, 2 bonus feats, good hp.
