What's the most you've ever spent on a single RPG-related item?

Ptolus. I paid about $180, including shipping, for it this year. I wouldn't have dreamt of expending that kind of money on a RPG item a few years ago, but such is life. You get older, have more disposable income, and less time to enjoy what you buy with it. :D

Galactus Heroclix 95.00

Colossal Red Dragon 65.00

World's Largest Dungeon 60.00

Your player's faces when they become embroiled in a fight between a titan (Galactus) and a Colossal Red dragon in the WLD...priceless.

EDIT: Since others are mentioning game-related trips, I'd probably have to put down my excursion to Seattle to attend the D&D writing camp. The week-long camp itself was $800, as I recall.

I'm not sure I've ever paid more than £30/$45 for a single item. The Wilderlands of High Fantasy box set was under £30 AIR, and amazing value at the price. I overpaid just under £28 for the Neverwinter Campaign Setting from amazon.co.uk pre-order, expecting another box set, and was left very unhappy when a hardback book arrived that should have been under £20. Gargantuan Black Dragon mini was £15.

Ironically, I've spent nearly £200 on single orders of minis - but that was for dozens & dozens of individual minis. I'll spend far more if I can choose exactly what I'm getting, as opposed to a manufacturer-chosen box.

Ptolus. I got the pdf when it was on sale for $36 instead of $60. Being able to search through that document is fantastic.

I also spent $36 on the War of the Burning Sky subscription.

For a physical book it would probably have been the Forgotten Realms 3e Campaign Setting or Wheel of Time d20 book, both of which I bought new from amazon so they were probably 30% off the $40 cover price so $28.

The most I've spent was probably for a guy's gaming weekend where I flew across the country from Maryland to California. Probably a few hundred dollars for the round trip tickets.

Single biggest item was Ptolus on the installment plan.

Single biggest purchase, I'm not sure. My wife and I bought our entire gaming group a copy of Arcana Unearthed on launch (10 copies altogether, counting ours). But the FLGS gave a very hefty discount for volume on a preorder. I also bought a ton of stuff at two gaming stores going out of business, but that was in the 60% to 90% off stage. So I don't remember if any of those cracked the Ptolus $120 or not. Other than those 4 times, it is pretty rare for me to go over $50.00.

Another vote for Ptolus here, got a used copy in 2009 for $193.99. Still lovin' it! :)

The next down the list was the full-colored hardbound copy of the 3.5E War of the Burning Sky. That ran $175 on special as I recall, and I still feel it was worth it. I support creativity and the production of cool products for me to enjoy! :)
