What's the oldest RPG Product you own?

I managed to buy on ebay (for about $150) an old printing of the 1974 D&D boxed set. It still has Hobbits, Ents, and Balrogs in it. (The later printings dropped these things because of a legal dispute with Tolkien's estate.) The books are in excellent shape, though the box has been crushed (but it's still serviceable).

I have the brown books as well though they were from the "Collector's edition" of the late 70's..My borother had one of the original sets which I thought I would inherit but he sold them darnit...so I bought the white box in 1978 or 1979 IIRC.

However my copies of Greyhawk and Blackmoor are older..I bought them in 1977, and they are 1975/76 printings.

Non D&D my oldest item is a 1st Edition Cults of Prax for Runequest..1978 IIRC

{snip} the oldest rpg stuff I have are the old hardbound player's handbook, which I also picked up, strangely enough, at Whyte Knight (small world).

Hey FoD, where in Edmonton are you? I'm downtown, Jasper and 116th street (roughly).

Cheers!

p.s. It is indeed a small world... where else can you converse with so many gamers from around the world?

AD&D Deities & Demigods, 1st printing. You know, the one with the 2 verbotten pantheons.

I *had* older stuff at one time, but stuff has been cycled in and out of my gaming shelves at various times due to moves, parents, etc.

I'm currently in the West end myself, around 97th and 152nd street.

I used to go to work roughly in the area that you are, or at least pass by there on the way.

The world has indeed grown smaller!

Funny, D&D was my first rpg experience but I never owned any of the 1ed hardback books--they were all my friend's. The first rpg purchase I made (which I still own) is my V&V boxed set.

GURPS Traveller circa 1977

Err GURPS didn't exist in 1977 much less GURPS Traveller. Are you sure you don't mean Classic Traveller?

Speaking of CT, I have the 6th publish copy of the original 1st Edition of Traveller! The absolute pride of my collection!

My first? Isle of Dread (X1, isn't it? The cover fell off years ago) in 1987 or 88. My grandmother gave it to me... and I can't think why, because to the best of my knowledge she lived on a farm and wrestled cows rather than play D&D.

I got D&D in the big black box around 1991. Again, a present, but this time from my parents.

And the first item I actually bought could well be the 2e Greyhawk Monstrous Compendium, although I've never played in Greyhawk. That would be around 94, 95.
