What's wrong with being good?

Well, when you say "By mature gamers, I mean over ~28.", I think it's a reasonable inference that you're saying players in their mid-20s or younger are immature.

People are always free to infer anything they wish, but how would you suggest I politically correctly refer to an age group?
"The old guys over 28"?
"The ancient ones"?
"The old fogeys"?

Mature is a term commonly used for non-younguns : I am not making any statements about anyone not in the "mature" age group.

I almost always play something good aligned, but just look at the manufacturer.

Did they come out with the book of Heroic Goodness, no they came out with an evil book.

If you want to summon or call some help there are 5 or more evil outsiders to every good one.

Supplement wise, DD is just evil, or at least edited that way

Oh, c'mon. This has nothing to do with the dreaded PC.

You said "And I also didn't say that all younger players are immature". So you're mixing your use of mature = being older, and mature = grown-up-acting.

Don't get in a huff because somebody else noticed your language is sloppy. ;)

Not make comments about age at all, would be my suggestion.

I once had a very touchy CN neutral character in my party. The King tried to send the party on a quest, but the CN party member refused to go unless the king said 'please'. The resulting argument was actually quite funny, and the PC left with a big smile on his face.

I also had a CN character who had been forced into adventuring against his will, and was acting very cowardly all the time. I felt it was roleplayed pretty well, and the Player occasionally got bonus XP for it.

It'd be okay if they were making evil characters for roleplaying or story purposes, but they more or less just seem to think evil means no rules. Of course, this ends up meaning that they get angry at me when their actions have consequences. I can't imagine that they're actually surprised when their murderous rampages attract the attention of local authorities.

Ah, the joys of being chaotic stupid.

Probably the easiest way to deal with this is to remove temptation. After you kill them (; don't have their new PCs start anywhere near a town. Have them start, say, as a gang expelled by a brigand group. They can live off the land, loot and sack merchant caravans, get chased by annoying Good-aligned adventurers, put up with well-guarded LE merchants selling goods at 400% PHB, etc. You can have other evil parties exploit and do nasty things to them, so they'll have more than just Good-aligned enemies.

Of course, if you don't like playing with them, drop the group and find another. Well worth it in the long run.

re

I am with Dragonblade. Lawful Good is my favorite alignment. Most of my players enjoy being good.

To be quite honest and a bit controversial, those people who enjoy playing evil alignments must have never bothered to read their history books or have never been around truly evil people.

Hey Cardinal is your sig from a "Which Fist of the North Star character are you?" test? It's got no links, where did you find it?

I didn't say that mature gamers don't play evil.

I said mature gamers don't have such an aversion to playing good characters.

And I also didn't say that all younger players are immature, OR that all younger players like to play evil characters.

Hey Reaper, Don't worry, I understand where you are coming from and I understand what you are saying. :)

I actually agree with you, at least from my personal experience (that's my disclaimer) when dealing with new people to the group or people much younger than us who want to join our group. They tend to not want to play the good guys and the last couple of people who thought about joining us actually didn't because the sitting dm's at the times told them they had to be good.
