If this feeling persists, I will go to a real doctor, particualrly because of what reveal is saying about the heart. There's lots of family history of heart problems; I'm only 29, but better safe than, well, dead.

Nakia, would you do me a personal favor and just go anyway. I'm not your wife or your mother and I've got no right to nag you. But two years ago one of my best friends and gaming buddies died of a heart attack at 33. He too had a bad family history of heart problems. He had no idea that he too had these problems until he had a heart attack 6 months earlier and the doctors told him that he had the cardiovascular system of a 70 year old.

Please go.

Thanks for the concern, Rel and others. I was planning on getting a physical when I turn 30 in February. Maybe I'll just move that appointment up a little.

It's okay to nag a bit. It makes me feel good to know folks (some of whom I've never met IRL) are concerned.

OK, here is a bit more nagging. Go sooner. It may be nothing, or it may be something completely out of left field. I often have chest pain and shortness of breath. With a history of heart attacks at a young age, I went and had it checked out. Turns out I have frequent (but mild, thankfully) panic attacks that manifest themselves with many of the same symptoms.

I'm just trying to keep up the attendance figures at the NC Game Days. ;)

Didn't consider the dionsaurs. Which are all Rel's fault.
DAMN YOU, Rel! I knew you were responsible for the giant robot attacks, but I thought dinosaurs was beneath even you!

And nakia; if you're starting a professorship type job, presumably your health insurance covers these types of fairly routine checkups, right? I'd schedule something for this week.

I'll second (third? fourth?) the plea to see a doctor. If it is something like mono or West Nile fever, then he/she might not be able to help you much but at least you'll have an idea of how long it will last.
