But that's precisely why D&D is popular and WFRP is not even considered by 85% of gamers out there. Oh, it's fun in it's own right, but D&D has several other advantages IMO:
1) It's more popular and you'll actually be able to find, weed out, and retain a large pool of players (I've always considered this to be one of D&D's strongest suits..unfortunately)
2) I consider D&D (1e, 2e, 3e, 4e) to be a better system for ease for logical play
3) D&D can be easily houseruled to use WFRP components, the opposite isn't true.
4) Careers are a Roleplaying thing..classes are a mechanic
5) Combats are deadlier in D&D than in WFRP (just kidding
6) A DM can balance encounters more easily in D&D (balanced up/down/unbeatable)
7) WFRP got most of it's best gaming ideas from D&D and added some stellarly interesting stuff..that can be house ruled back into D&D
I think the WFRP was one of the best purchases that I've made, but since I'd rather actually be able to play, rather than stare at the book, D&D is a more logical choice.
BTW,someone suggested a great font for writing up WARHAMMER handouts: http://www.hyperborea.org/les-mis/font.html
