What's your favorite CRPG?

I have played only the following, but I liked them all :)

Baldur's Gate I & II
Darkstone
Temple of Elemental Evil
Neverwinter Nights

I am playing NWN at the moment, almost finished the base game, but it has become a little boring in the combat section, I always want to skip it quickly in favor of the story.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is probably one of the best CRPGs of all times, too, but it hardly qualifies as fantasy. If I had to name a single CRPG today, it would be this, I think.
It's quasi-futuristic fantasy instead of quasi-medieval fantasy, but any setting where "the Force" works is fantasy.

My first vote goes to Planescape: Torment too.... closely followed by Fallout (both) and definitely Arcanum and Morrowind...

Torment has one of the most beautiful plots I've ever seen in a game... or a book.

Fallout is so vast, and can be played through in so many ways...

And Arcanum is probably the coolest setting of all... and really so VAST to explore... so many things to do and see, literally ONE character ain't enough to see all...

And Morrowind, I just picked up for the XBox... And I'm hooked. I love the customizability, and sincerely, as in old Daggerfall, the sheer thrill of being truly able to explore every INCH of the game world.

Did they make a game in the Morrowind style, but Planescape-based.... THIS tiefling would only emerge to eat, and not all that often...

I'm on an old Presario rig with a lousy processor, and I find NWN and BG run fine, if a bit laggy in MP. Adding RAM is the easiest and cheapest thing you can do to upgrade your pc. Do it. They say WinME can't handle anything over 512 or so (correct me here if wrong), but I am on at 640. And it's cheap. Get rAM and get busy.

ENWorld has a NWN server, if you haven't heard.

I would recommend Neverwinter Nights if you meet the min requirements. There's a lot of mods available that really give it longevity. I thought the campaign mode's story was a bit repetitious though but there's plenty to keep you busy. My personal favorite is probably Ultima IV though.

True enough, tho with "fantasy" a certain quasi-medieval genre is usually meant. :)

My favourite of all time is Ultima V. I've never enjoyed an RPG that much before or since.

NWN is good in multi-player.

I had Planescape: Tormet, but it was stolen. I barely scratched the surface of it.
