Anything other than the point buy system means someone is better than the rest...and even though it's more realistic, most poeple prefer the point buy system because of it's fairness, and almost competativeness..you THEN see who made the best character, not who jsut Rolled the best character...
e.g. most people could create a character with a 32 point buy system and beat elmister at level 20
How does bragging about your stats have anything to do with D&D rules?
Anyway, I'm in full agreement with Pax. Point buy is much better then random rolling. (Besides, most dice rollers I've encountered never give me anything higher then 15 anyway.)
