Let's just say my total income per month is about $60...so...

About $25-30 on gaming a month. $20 of that, roughly, would be for food at sessions. Every four months or so, I splurge and get a book.

That's not to say I'm below the poverty level; I'm 16, live with my parents, and don't have a job. And the job part should be changing at some point...

The numbers we used for an average gamer wae $54 for RPG and $63 for Card players with the average now adding in Collectable miniatures for an unknown. We used these dnumbers for 15 years to figure out marketshare and advance profit margin.

I used to spend 8 to 10k on inventory and now I just get my 3 magazines for 17.50 cents.

the economic downturn has had an effect on my spending.

i'm now on a budget. i used to just buy whatever i saw and thought i might like or use or convert to my campaign.

Well, right now its very low. Not only are we on a short term restricted cash flow plan (due to upcoming vacation) but I also have enough books that I don't buy nearly as much as I used to.

I should show this poll to my wife just to annoy her :)
I DM and spend 10$ ish a month, which is normally 1 book per 3-4 months.
if you count our KDOT subscription, which my wife reads, its a little higher.

It feels like I have piles of books to draw on very little of it 3.5.
and all my minis are circa 1990 when I wargamed heavily.

A year ago, I would have said to put me in the $50 - $100 range.

However, nowadays I'm only in the $20 - $50 per month range. Very little has appealed to me for a long time from most companies. These days I only buy FR books (so that's about 2 a year) and every Necromancer Games adventure... and that's it.

My gaming spending comes in two basic flavors, regular and extra crispy.

Regular, not a lot of spending, maybe $20 - $40 a month as I pick up occassional miniatures and PDFs. This is about 10 months out of the year, with occassional 1 week lapses when I spend more or less.

Extra Crispy, when I buy a lot of stuff all at once. Right now I am exra crispy, and have spent better than $300 on gaming supplies this week, including around $100 at RPGNow.com. (More if you count the ink and cardstock I purchased for the express purpose of printing up World Works terrain. Both the ink and the cardstock have been used up.) Mind this is way above average even for my game purchase frenzy. (Too many things all at once...) More typically I spend around $50 and $70 a week in this state of things. This happens about once a year lasting 1 or 2 months. This is also when I make the plunge and enter a new game. (Next up WARMACHINE...) Or in this case decide to get back into some I haven't played in a while (Mordheim, which I am running at a summer program and supply the gangs for, and Warhammer 40k, because I have finally given up on getting my old army back from the folks I used to game with.) This is the followed by very few if any purchases for the next month.

My limit on what I purchase is dictated by my free time and ability of using new material, rather than money. I don't think I personally spend more than an average of 10$ per month, though our group as a whole certainly spends more.

For me it varies widely from month to month. I may spend $100 one month, and then nothing for several months, etc.

It prolly comes to $200-250/year, or around $20/month.

I DM, and I have a terrible RPG spending habit.

I buy on e-bay, amazon, my FLGS, rpgnow.com, FRP Games, RPGShop.com, Drivethrurpg.com, Doordice.com. It's just terrible.

Basically, I spend about $600 per month on a ton of stuff and I'll use about 1/5 of it. (granted, I buy gifts for my players all the time too.) And I have the bad habit of getting everything for a genre or campaign setting. Like i recently downloaded some free skeleton key games e-adventure tiles, and the next day bought all of them.

I should cutback, but it's my only vice anymore. :) Ugh....
