What's your rolling style?

At my table I encourgae everyone to roll all their dice at once:

1 d20 for the atk roll, 1 d20 (different color) to confirm in case it is a crit, damage dice and whatever additional dice (we use a "knockdown" die system, so that gets rolled, too).

I prefer to have a shoe box top or board game top to roll in, as it allows me to get the illusion of enhanced randomness from sheer ... dice-rolling... speed!

Did it irritate you; it would me – get your greasy, smelly dice of my sheet!
Yes, it irritated me, but I didn't say anything because he clearly wasn't having a good time since another player at the table was belittling everyone.

As DM, I don't allow any what I call non-standard dice: everyone has to be able to read it, it has to roll properly, it must be 'normal' size and so on. I've had to ban spherical d6s, electronic dice, dice the size of pinheads, dice the size of small dogs and dice which make incessant bleeping noises. My players think I'm a tyrant.

One of our players has dice with green backing and red numbers. I have a red-green weakness and certainly can't read his dice. Which might be for the better.

Odd coincidence, yeah, I think his dice are opaque green with some hard to read colour for the numbers – will check next time for red.

Sounds like an overall negative experience – I'm sorry.

Just another reason why I don't game with people I wouldn't want to have a cocktail with.
