What's your screen name from?

What does your EN World screen name come from?

Olaf the Stout was the name of the first D&D character that I created (2E AD&D). He was a halfling thief.

The Olaf part is the name comes from one of the 3 vikings in the SNES game The Lost Vikings (although I actually got it from another SNES game Rock'n'Roll Racing where Olaf was a hidden character for those of you that really care!). The Stout part comes from the fact that Olaf was a stout halfling (rather than a regular one).

P.S. And I was really tempted to just press the Oohhh....shiny button option instead! :D

Something totally different.

It's actually from a poem in my favorite anime. The heros are all scattered from each other (in a state of suspended animation) and their leader must find them. The lines that pertain to my favorite character are:
"Floating amongst the eyes of ages,
Unmoored in the stream of the sky."

Triple bonus points if anyone can actually name the anime, heh heh.

ivocaliban

ivo being Ivo Watts-Russell, record producer at 4AD records. Also, the first track from the Watts-Russell produced Cocteau Twins album Treasure.

caliban being the infamous character from Shakespeare's The Tempest.

It comes from a recurring Cyberpunk 2020 NPC I created and used regularly, long before 3.0 came out.

Edit to add: I originally used it as part of my Yahoo address because no permutations with my real name were available. And even then, I had to add a number to Shadowdancer for Yahoo because there were already several other Shadowdancer accounts registered. So I chose 2112, the name of my favorite Rush album and one of my favorite albums of all time.

So then when I started posting on various Internet boards, I used Shadowdancer as my handle. Since I started posting here well after 3E came out, I was pleasantly surprised no one else had taken it.

vulcan_idic is my standard online handle, derived from combination of the ever famous Star Trek aliens and a somewhat less famous facet of that races philosophy, the IDIC Principle which is an acronym meaning Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.

JDragon - well its my first inital J from Jason and well Dragon cause I like dragons and D&D.

I have been using it for a while as my screen name for message baords, email and such and a few years ago got it for the plates of my car. If I happen to find a board or email system that its been taken I will add 3 or 0's to the end instead of some random #.
