what is your favourite TSR/ WotC setting?

Planescape, cause it has stuff and it's ok. And there's things you do but planars prime.

The setting needs no better explanation than that!

Darksun is in third place. Good for a dead game world.

Hurm.... WoTC please take note- the top three are all "dead" game worlds!

Greyhawk, Planescape and Darksun.

Went for 1983 Greyhawk, though I've had a lot of fun with Gazetteer Known World/Mystara and Mystara's Dawn of the Emperors was my most extensively used published D&D product, followed by the 2e City of Greyhawk box.

Edit: I think there's a difference between what's exciting - 1983 Greyhawk box was an incredibly exciting purchase, from the evocative blurb on the back of the box to those wonderful, enormous maps - and what's most useful in play, which for me is tons of cool, detailed NPCs like those in Dawn of the Emperors.

My choices were (in order):
Darksun (original boxed set), Al Quadim, Ravenloft (original boxed set), Dragonlance (War of the lance), Greyhawk (original boxed set), FR (original box set)

For me, its a tie between Birthright, Al-Quadim, and the original Greyhawk boxed set. Greyhawk is a classic, and can incorporate about anything into it without being over the top. Birthright, because it was so different, and it was the first setting I'd seen where the cultures really came alive and were significantly different from each other. Birthright served as inspiration for my homebrew world after we played in it for a while, and I really enjoyed the political aspects of Birthright as well. Al-quadim was just awesome for its tremendous flavor and incredible settings and adventures.

The only setting I just "don't get" is Eberron. I know a lot of people love it, and more power to them, but to me it just seems "more D&D than D&D." Thats just not what I'm looking for in a game.

Dark Sun in the original boxed set, though I've had to make compromises running it, I have used a modified version of the Paizo game that feels more like the original.

Masque of the Red Death would be a close second. I like the low-powered D&D style game with magic being a hazardous thing to dabble in.

Given, I've written 3e conversions for both its pretty obvious.
