I could have seen him wanting it earlier this year but the year has worn down, things change, people change. I think all the stuff we never really hear about (network people, star's agents, paper work) have effected his feelings.

Makes sense. I bet the Firefly thing really took alot out of him. He's probably looking forward to hitting the reset button so to speak. Finish Buffy with a bang, keep Angel going strong and work like crazy on his next project. We already know he can do 2 shows at once so at least when Buffy goes we'll have something to look forward to.
