I'm psyched that it's coming back... all indications were that it was going to be back, and with the best of the Buffy crew coming over and Joss being able to devote full attention as opposed to be being divided amongst up to three shows, there were lots of good reasons to bring it back. On the other hand, Angel's ratings are pretty poor, even for the WB. So it was never a sure thing until now!

*sigh*

No, not about Angel being renewed, that's good. But read a little further - it'll be getting a new partner, as Smallville is moving to 8 pm on Wednesday. Now, I like Smallville, too. But there's a problem...

That puts Smallville opposite Enterprise (unless Enterprise moves). That is not good. Not good at all. Especially right now, there aren't so many genre shows out there that they should be in direct competition. Some corporate dude is beign a shmuck to viewers.

Speculation

So hey, wanna bet Willow shows up at some point? I mean, Alyson Hannigan is marrying Alexis Denisof. Somehow I don't think she'd be too unhappy with a guest spot on Angel.

I'm sure she'll show up - however Allyson is also one of the only actresses in the Buffyverse (other than SMG) to be in any significantly successful films. She supposedly is working on getting some films going, and she's probably got a decent chance of having at least as much of a movie career as Seth Green (who is the other Scoob with significant movie success).

Hmm. I don't know many people who watch Buffy or Angel (or Smallville), but I know 0 people who watch Enterprise, so I'm curious: how is it doing as far as ratings go? I've always assumed Star Trek's audience shrunk significantly after DS9, but that's probably just because that's the point where all my friends and I thought it went down the toilet. What season is Enterprise in?

I'm sad about the mentioned cast edition. Of course I'll have to wait to see how they do it, but I can't imagine it making much sense. That guy just does not belong on Angel. If they are still talking about doing a Ripper show, I'd rather see him go there.
