Wheel of Time

Since I'm moving and all my stuff is in boxes (really pathetic, seeing your life reduced to a big stack of cardboard boxes), I haven(t checked the book. But isn't there a scene in one of the books (lord of Chaos?) where Rand hides Egwene in his room in the sun palace. It's clearly stated that she can't move or she'll pass through his weave. So when in doubt, I would say the weave doesn't move.

I went with a fairly by-the-book set-up for my campaign (almost done, but still needs some stuff to finish it...), with one exception. Instead of using a number of spells/level/day, I went with a number of spell points a day. What that means is instead of having 6 - 0, 6 - 1, and 3 - 2, you have (6*.5 + 6*1 + 3*2 =) 12 points to use each day. Casting spells is the same , taking a number of points from the pool equal to the spell level (with the exception of 0th level spells not burning up a point with a successful check).
Thus far the players seem to have enjoyed it, and I'm planning on taking them through an interesting journey to finish it (using monsters from the various d20 books I have), ending with a confrontation with the Dark One himself.
Oh yeah, the campaign's set after the final battle between Rand al'Thor and Shai'tan, which ended with Shai'tan being sealed in this world, releasing the taint from the male half of the One Power, forcing a mass exodus into the Oriental Adventures map (Thus I allowed the OA races), and Rand al'Thor dead.

What taint? He got rid of it at the end of the last novel

On the other hand, Asmodean used that weave or something similar in Fires of Heaven, to get past the Maidens of the Spear to Rand's room, where he could hide the gateway Aviendha made.

Hmm, got me there.
Maybe you can move around as long as you don't tie off the weave?
Or maybe Asmodean used some compulsion-esque trick on the maidens. Don't quite remeber the scene you're refering to. (Damned boxes, can't even look it up in the book!)

Marcantony, some of us haven't read Winter's Heart yet. I'm still annoyed that I already learned that fact, but you shouldn't ruin it for everyone else.

As this isn't a Wheel of Time-specific forum, I pretty much agree. However, on WotC's d20 Wheel of Time boards, or rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan, expecting spoiler warnings more than a month or two after a book is released gets kind of silly.

Marcantony: I was going off what was in the WoTRPG book, not the latest book, since I've left off the series long ago. I used what I knew of the series and crafted a backstory to fit what I wanted to do with the campaign, and, as thus, my comment about the taint is still perfectly valid.

I have not read the bools at probably won't....reading the history of. I just need info on game mechanics and how they might relate to the books.

I guess we should have people list * spoiler * just in case at the top of any messages.

Give me a break, considering the book is now 2 years old if you havent read it by now you're probably not going to
Especially given the new novel comes out in november this year

Sometimes things get out of order don't they. I've had Winter's Heart since It was released, but haven't had the time yet to read it (way too many other books to read) Then when the WOT RPG was released, I sneaked onto the net and found me a synopsis of the novel, just to know what was going on "setting" wise ;-)
