When do you think Amazon will deliver?

So while I greatly desire to have the D&D books in hand on the 6th, I can't stomach paying $40 more for the local copies rather than Amazon.

So I used the one-month Amazon Prime trial membership to order them next-day.

My question is: When do you think Amazon will deliver? I know with big league stuff like Harry Potter, they actually arrived on the release day. Do you think there's any chance that will happen for the D&D books?

Could be, they do tend to ship out a bit early for bigger releases. I can only assume they would have to have them in warehouses by now. No way we will know until they ship.

I used free shipping and it says they will ship on the 10th. I don't get that. I will be happy if they at least ship on the release date like they should for a preorder.

When i emailed amazon they said that you get your books on a first come first serve. Weather postage will effect this i don't know. Either way, no books on the day... Im gonna cry as know local store will stock even the phb. As my only local store that sell D&D is water stones/ (im in britain)

I ordered KotSF from amazon with my prime account. And they shipped it so it actually arrived on the release day (Tuesday).

Amazon is really, really flaky with stuff like this. Officially, it lists:

Free: June 10th
Standard: June 6th
2-Day: June 10th
1-Day: June 9th

Which seems unlikely, so I asked and customer service said that Standard should actually be June 11-13... but I will say that shipping of many preorder books does get you to them way faster than that, and I boggle at a June 9th 'Next Day' when they already have them in their warehouse.

1. YAY 4e
2. Spare book to pass about the table.

I'm driving the 150km just to get a PHB, get the group Character creating and just wait for Amazon to deliver later that week. For KotS, I'm memorizing the book and not going to introduces it until they make their own characters. I see no point starting with pre-gens: no connection. So even if Amazon comes super late, I'll be fine with a copy of of the PHB.

Where in the UK are you? Here (Manchester), I've made the experience that amazon is pretty quick - I usually get their stuff one or two days after shipping (with standard delivery). Probably due to living in a very urban area - perhaps some warehouses are close.

Though that's my first amazon preorder.

With KotS, my order shipped on May 20th and I had it on May21st, even though the shipping estimate said I wouldn't get it until May 23rd. This is via Canada Post. With June 6th being a Friday, I'm expecting the books to arrive the following Monday.
