I have never done Amazon Prime, but with conventional pre-orders I always got them 3 to 5 working days after the release date. Always. Now this was over 3 years ago, and ticked me off so bad that it is over 3 years ago, so they may have actually gotten better about it, but I don't know.

What really ticked me off, is I pre-ordered, it was a week after its release, I still hadn't gotten it. I cancelled the pre-order. A few hours later I decided to just wait and get it through the mail, whenever. The book arrived 3 days later. From my normal order, not the pre order.

So now I just order on the day of availability and typically get it 3 to 4 days later. Which was faster than I ever got books on pre order.

Like I said, its been 3 years since I have even tried to do pre-orders. So they may have gotten better. I sure hope so.

Eh, don't complain! I HAVE to get them until the 11th, because I'm off the plane on 12th. And this would annoy me *a lot*!

Cheers, LT.

So, does First Come, First Served mean they'll ship out whomever's preorder was received first? In that case, I should probably be getting mine as soon as humanly possible; my preorder is dated September 12th.

Also, on a related note, the Core Rules Gift Set is currently #11 in Books on Amazon.

So while I greatly desire to have the D&D books in hand on the 6th, I can't stomach paying $40 more for the local copies rather than Amazon.

So I used the one-month Amazon Prime trial membership to order them next-day.

My question is: When do you think Amazon will deliver? I know with big league stuff like Harry Potter, they actually arrived on the release day. Do you think there's any chance that will happen for the D&D books?

I got my KotS on the 21st and didn't ask for special shipping at all.
