When do you think Amazon will deliver?

I really don't understand the obsession about "having it the day of release". I mean, will a few extra days really kill people. We've been waiting for about a year, a few extra days won't hurt anybody. I think Amazon's dates are pretty reasonable.

No it will not, I will however :D I'm like a druggy who needs his fix of rpg goodness injected into him soon...

On the brightside, there are 2 D&D Game Days within 20 miles of my home! WOOOO!

The books should come around release, or a little after. I know that for the last 3 pre-releases I've ordered that the products (including KoTS) shipped earlier than they said it would AND the items got to me all on the release day, and this is with Standard shipping. Free shipping does, actually, add some days to this, in my experience, but standard hasn't. The posted date for me to receive the items was always several days after release but if you follow the Tracking button you can see the items get to you much quicker, and I've never had to wait until the actual predicted date posted on the site. At least with pre-releases.

I expect to get my books on the 6th from Amazon and no later than the 8th. If Tracking doesn't show the books as being in Phoenix come the day before release than I will go buy a PHB from the local hobby shop to read and keep as an extra.

When they shipped KotS to me, the first UPS tracking location was in Phoenix, so I think Amazon has a distribution center there. In addition, I used the free shipping (grouped it with some Warmachine books) and received it on the 19th (day before the release). I am not expecting it, but I am hoping for a similar outcome with the core rulebooks.

It won't kill anybody, but I'm scheduled to run my first 4E game the Thursday after release. It would be really nice if I had the weekend to acquaint myself with the new rules.

I generally find Amazon delivers on the release date; they've been quite good about that in the past. Anyway, between Amazon and my FLGS, I'm fairly confident I'll be able to get a copy on the 6th. And if I end up with two core sets, that's fine; I usually find myself needing spares anyway. There's always a player who doesn't own the core books and has to borrow a PHB.

I ordered through amazon.fr (I live in belgium) the gift box set and the delivery date they gave me, is approx the 4th july... It's gonna be a long month...

I put in a pre-order pretty late last night with Buy.com when I read what was going on by perusing this board last night, around 10pm est. My order stated it was sent to warehouse last night before I went to bed and it still says that this morning at 9:39am est. I wonder if they caught this issue now and are keeping newer orders from going to shipping?

Any opinions?
