D&D 5E When exactly does Basic come out?

So we now Basic comes out with the Starter set... but the Starter set has two release dates - July 3rd and July 15th. So, when does the Basic PDF go up?

The 3rd, with the rules of play and PC creation. It will get updated as more books are released, it appears.

Yeah, you won't get your monsters and magic items until the PHB is released. The PHB won't have monsters and magic items (MM come with those later), but they're adding some to the Basic rules so you can start up a campaign right away with the PHB and have the most iconic items and monsters available.

The official release date for the D&D Starter Set is July 15, its possible that Basic only release then.

Nope Plaguescarred, it releases at the same time as the WotC official stores get it on the 3rd. Now I would love to be able to point you to the Mearls quote where he said that, but I can't. But he did say the third.

I just went through the trouble of finding the infor from the last Q&A video on twitch here.

Time code 32:11 is a good place to start.

But he nods about the July 3rd date, and then talks about something else.
