When preparing a Hot Chilli Paste...

I was over at a friend's house one night for a chili cookout. One of his roommates goes upstairs, and about 30 seconds later we hear this blood-curdling scream. He'd been slicing jalapenos and chilis, and forgot to wash his hands.

And then put his contact lenses in.
My dad has glaucoma and made a similar mistake involving putting his drops in.

Milk based products are good in these situations. My dad lying on the couch with cottage cheese on his face... good times...

Uh..... anyone who would touch jalapenos and then stick his fingers in his eyes needs to put more ranks in intelligence.

I learned this particular lesson circa 1990. I was making a good hot batch of Chili and had been hand crushing dried peppers into the mix before the call of nature.

Yaowza! That's some fine pain there, Lou! Not an experience I'd recommend.

Much worse than a few years later when I learned that I had somehow developed an allergy to latex that I hadn't had before.

Yep, The glass of milk helped ease the burn.

Not as bad as my one friend you was making his special chilli powder & then decided to go....

Um Nasal Prospecting?

Snorted several grams worth of various exotic dry chillis right up his snout.

Did you know that the one part where your Brain makes contact with the outside world is through your Nasal Cavity?

He also sneezed right in the chilli powder he was making. Lots of mucus. None of us really wanted chilli after that.
