When Was Your Last 2e Experience?

AD&D: this spring. I tried to DM an adventure, but it broke down at day 2, because i just can´t DM this system as esaily as i DM 3.x (balance issues...)

My 3.x (which i mainly DM) however is heavily influenced by 2nd edition, because this is what i grew up with as player (only DMed once and failed).

Also my 4th edition DM style is influenced by 2nd edition... however weird this sounds...

never played basic... besides stronghold on PC

2nd ed- 2005 or so. One of our new players wanted to run a game but didn't feel comfortable using 3.x (despite having been a long time D&D player, he'd only recently been introduced to 3rd). Despite being annoyed at 2nd's limited options, it was a very fun campaign, and my user name actually comes from the fighter I played.

As for Basic, sometime in the 90's I'd guess. It's been so long that I no longer remember.

Last time playing 2E: 1998 or 1999, I think.

Last time playing Basic: Last year, in memory of Gary Gygax. (We didn't have any copies of OD&D, but I had copies of the old BECMI boxed sets lying around.)

Ummm...probably just before 3E came out, so mid 2000.

I started with 2E and I've never had the opportunity to try the earlier editions. :(

Last time I played 2e... Probably about 1991 when I got disgusted with it and traded a bunch of my 2e stuff for a bunch of B/X stuff.

Last 2e product I purchased was probably in 1994, when I got some of the new 2e Mystara stuff, after TSR had ended the D&D line. Hated it, never bought anything from TSR again.

Last time I played B/X D&D... All the way back in 2009. Despite not having a regular group, I squeezed some in with my family last spring.

Spring 1998 for the last time in person (when my college gaming group mostly graduated); a bit of attempts at PBeM between 1999-2000. When I moved to San Diego and found a new group to play with in 2001, I restarted with 3e. Never actually played pre-2e.

I think it was 2002. I converted my longtime game (started in the 80s with 1e) to 3e then after an ingame world changing event the PCs accomplished. I know I had the 3e Ravenloft Campaign Setting and Denizens of Darkness, the latter of which came out in April 2002.

Basic I'd have to go back to the 80s, though I was contemplating the appeal of the more straightforward basic mechanics again in the 90s as a system of choice (the no percentile strength aspect in particular).

The last time I played 2e was sometime in 2003, IIRC.
The last 2e campaign I DM'ed was 2003/2004 (Birthright setting). It wasn't 2e "core", but heavily house-ruled based on Skills&Powers. (For example, you could buy race/class abilities with character points after 1st level.)

Except for computer games I never played D&D pre-2e. I started in '90 or '91 with 2e.
