Where and how do you play?

Where and how are you playing right now?

I play at a buddys house with a tight group of friends. I'm also DM'ING for the first time at my house for my wife and her friends who wanted to try it out and see what its all about.

During the height of the pandemic though our main group was playing on Roll20 for a short while. It was pretty neat with all the visual aspects and different interactive features but nothing beats a good in-person game.

2 weekly games, one in person (at a friends office not at home) & one online (roll20 & discord) due to distance.

I also have a regular tri annual weekend of gaming that went to one session and more online (roll20 & zoom) last year as it involves interstate travel. Just got back from it this past weekend All but 1 player made it and he joined virtually a few times.

Friends place. With a tightly controlled group of 4, sometimes a 5th.
As I've said before, we're around each other enough as is that spending another 4-6 hours together rolling some dice isn't going to make any difference.

I notice that there's not an option for playing at a community venue.

My Friday night group Dragons Keep meets at a Community Hall in Chislehurst, South East London. We've been running games for over 20 years under different club names and we are very keen to get back to face to face play once the lockdown is lifted.

We are always looking for fresh blood so if you are looking for a game and you live in the South East area we don't bite.

Thanks

Right now, the two campaigns I'm running are over Discord. The campaigns started in local game stores, though, and I am hoping to get back to that at some point in the nearish future. Failing that, I might be willing to host them in my place.

I play at home with my family. I really wish I could be a player, though, in a non-family (or at least, not just family) group instead of DMing ours all the time. Preferably in-person, but I would try Online.

Online in a text only, play-by-Slack game that uses Google Sheets for character sheets and as a virtual tabletop of sorts.
