Where are the campaign settings?

Might seem like an odd question but, over the run of 3.X D&D you could search Google and find hundreds of homebrew campaign settings that people had created. I always liked reading them and hunting for ideas.

Haven't done that for a while but recently did a look and there are one or two and that's it. Mostly 4E ones. I can't find a single homebrew Pathfinder setting. Everything is just Golarion.

Are people just not posting things anymore? I'm very surprised not to find some PF settings.

I'm not seeing the problem in two ways:

1. Do you need to have PF settings that are distinct from 3.x settings? IME, it's easy to pull from different settings even when they're from completely different systems/editions. The differences between 3.5 and PF (for the purposes of campaign settings) should be almost completely transparent.

2. On the first page of a google search, I was able to come up with these four different settings (all from different domains:

EMPIRE ABOVE (HOMEBREW PATHFINDER CAMPAIGN) LFM - Roll20 Community

Worlds Collide - Thoughts on a homebrew setting

Pathfinder - Low Magic Hombrew Setting | Infrno | Find. Connect. Play.

RPoL: Deepwater Chronicles (Pathfinder Homebrew) - Setting. by Game Master (group 0)

I imagine there's a ton more out there, and I haven't even tapped into the PF forum on ENWorld yet.

No, it doesn't have to be PF. I was just using that as an example. I should have said D20 I guess.

I'd love to know you put in to Google to find those. Whatever I put in nets me nothing but official D&D and PF campaign products. Maybe one or two of the same setting.

I googled {pathfinder "homebrew setting"} to get those results. Searching for {pathfinder "homebrew world"} seems to work equally well.

Part of the problem might be that Pathfinder is both the name of the game and the official campaign setting. So if you google {pathfinder campaign setting} you are searching for the same name as the official product, which will drown out the homebrew stuff. This is less of a problem with D+D, because the individual settings all have their own name.

I think a lot of people are using Obsidian Portal to host their campaigns. I'd suggest checking out that site and clicking on the "Campaigns" tab. There are hundreds of campaigns there.

Obsidian Portal

Thank you Jacob. That hasn't come up on my searchs.

That's the odd thing. I've tried both of those in Google to little effect. I wonder if Google also takes into account other things like location and such? Oh well. Thank you as well for your help.

I also say obsidian portal is the place to go. They have some really great-organized DMs that make their world available to everyone. I myself have my own 2nd ed forgotten realms campaign up, although we haven't played in about 2 years.

What are some of the best settings to peruse on Obsidian Portal? I've browsed through there a bit, but most settings seem to be really light on details, and presumably the wikis are underdeveloped because additional material used in the game is maintained offline.

EDIT: FYI, I just did a filter on campaign settings at OP; there are 6077 Pathfinder RPG campaigns listed. Many of them, no doubt, are not using original settings, though.
