Where have I seen this before?

In one of the campaigns I'm playing in, some of us are trying to figure out what it would cost to create a magic special quality for armor that increases the max Dex bonus, and decreases the armor check penalty.

Thing is, I'm sure I've seen this before in a published product, but I can't for the life of me remember where. Any thoughts?

I think in one of Monte's eldritch might books had the dex thing and perhaps both.

The pool of glenmasis in BOEM III had various minor echantment that removed the penalty for specific skills.

IIRC, Grace was a special quality from BoEM II originally (I am looking at it in Arms and Armor right now, but think BoEM II was the original source) that raised dex cap and lowered penalties. A rogue in my high level game had an armor with that quality.

Arms and Armor 3.5....the one place to look for all your armor and weapons needs. It has a few abilities that alter the max dex and armor check, some probably from the sources you are remembering.

"Don't quote me, but I think Magic of Faerun had something along those lines."

Nope, sorry, I am gonna quote you.

Nimbleness is in Magic of Faerun. Reduces armor check, increase max dex.

Nimble.....in one of the 3.0 WOTC splat books

it gave +2 to max Dex, -1 ACP

left your chain-shirt as the equivalent of a mithril chain shirt.

was a +1 modifier

I remember all this because in my 3.0 FR campaign I crafeted a couple of Nimble Chainshirts for both the rogue and the ranger.

Nimbleness: This type of armor feels lighter and less restrictive than other armor of its type. While the actual weight is unchanged, the maximum Dexterity bonus increases by +2 and the armor check penalty decreases by 1. Caster Level: 8th; Prequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, cat's grace; Market Price: +1 Bonus.
