Where the heck are tieflings detailed in 3e?

You know, have you ever noticed that whenever P'Cat makes a new thread it takes less then 5 seconds for someone to post the first reply.

I guess it's the curse of being popular, right P'Cat? :D

It's just the novelty of Piratecat asking a rules question. Everyone assumes he knows everything. Hey PC, wanna ask what the damage of a longsword is? :D

I think the long sword does 1dQ+Larry, if I remember correctly.

Aha! Under "planetouched." No wonder I couldn't find the little suckers. Thanks, everyone!

The most detailed description is in the FRCS (pp 18-20) although I think it is unsatisfactory. Why would tieflings get a hit to Chr? Plus, shouldn't their be varieties:

Cambions
Alu-Fiends
Bladelings
Devil spawned Tieflings
Demon spawned Tieflings
Night hag spawned Tieflings
Tieflings descended from the imprisoned titans
Tieflings from 'loths, etc

PLUS halfling tieflings, elven tieflings, etc etc

Because their partially fiendish nature and deformities put people on the edge and makes them not likable.

Tieflings aren't direct human/fiend crossbreeds. They are, at most, 1/4 (or so) fiend. Cambions and alu-fiends are half-fiends, not tieflings (though I understand that they will be given separate writeups in Tome of Horrors).

I always liked the stuff about tieflings in the original Planescape material, that they weren't necessarily a crossbreed of *anything*. They could just be affected by living on the lower planes - hence, planetouched.

And not a single snide remark about RTFM!

A curse for sure... :D
