Where will 3.5 Grognards Hang Out Come May 2008?

I was honestly fearful I would get either a) annoyed or b) depressed reading nothing except news and info regarding a game that has failed to interest me in any way and I'll have no use for. I hated the idea of really leaving, however, which is why it's so great we'll still be catered too. Game on!

My feelings exactly. This thread expresses my own thoughts and fears for the future, but I've always secretly believed that 4E was only dominating the forum because it's the Next Big Thing. Once the game is out and the dust is settled I hoped there would be room enough for everybody. Still, it's fantastic to hear it from the top. Cheers!

I've been assuming that next May there will be separate 3e and 4e forums. Is this the plan?

I haven't DMed 3E for over two years and have only played in a handful of 3E game sessions over the last two years.

I've still been here inflicting as much pain as possible. I even became a Community Supporter, after I quit 3E.

So if I can stick around here for 3E, 3E people can survive around here with 4E.

Hopefully Morrus will keep one or a few 3E forums around on EN World after the release of 4E. 3E Rules, 3E House Rules, and 3E Plots/Places/Rogues forums, maybe? Or just the former two?

The way 4e has been presented thusfar, I don't plan to switch from 3.5e for several years. Mind you, if WotC releases a 4e conversion manual for "DMs of undersea campaigns set in GH, that have lots of bards, no PC use of core races whatsoever, an overabundance of hags, and who use Macs", I might take a look.

Until then, it appears that the task of writing The Hydronomicon, Races of Water, Complete Aquan, Waterscape, and Tome of Magic II: Hag Magic now falls on me.

I'm not likely to switch to 4th Edition anytime soon, and my World of Kulan threads will remain on EN World and remain v.3.5. (Dark World, as well.) And my personal forum will remain dedicated to v.3.5. In fact, fans of the v.3.5 game can count on seeing new ideas for v.3.5 from me for a long time. I'm always designing new races, monsters, feats, characters, and the like for my campaign worlds. That will never end.

EN World is my online community, and a new edition isn't going to change that. The friends I've made here and are my friends for life, as far as I'm concerned. We may not always agree, but that's what makes life interesting.

I'll look at 4e, and have an idea for a brand new campaign world based on 4e (i.e. Tarras), but that's all vaporware right now.
