Where would you take this character?

Out of curiousity, what do you guys think of this? And if keeping along these lines, would you take some feats in a different order - maybe get Ride-By Attack earlier, for instance?

Level 4:

Ramius Sumarson
Ranger/fighter 2/2, NG
Str 18, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 13, Wis 10, Cha 12
Feats: Nymph's Kiss, Track (Ranger), Rapid Shot (Ranger), Power Attack, Cleave, Mounted Combat, Animal Affinity
Favored enemy: human +2

(By this point, he'd have a warhorse; his Handle Animal and Ride would be around +10.)

Level 8:

Ramius Sumarson
Ranger/fighter 3/5, NG
Str 19, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 13, Wis 10, Cha 12
Feats: Nymph's Kiss, Animal Affinity, Track (Ranger), Rapid Shot (Ranger), Endurance (Ranger), Power Attack, Cleave, WF: Greatsword, WSpec: Greatsword, Mounted Combat
Favored enemy: human +2

(At this point, he'd have Handle Animal at +14 so should be able to successfully train a giant eagle, griffon, etc as a mount. Not that other builds might not also have this...)

Level 12:
Ramius Sumarson
Ranger/fighter 3/9, NG
Str 20, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 13, Wis 10, Cha 12
Feats: Nymph's Kiss, Animal Affinity, Track (Ranger), Rapid Shot (Ranger), Endurance (Ranger), Power Attack, Cleave, WF: Greatsword, GWF: Greatsword, WSpec: Greatsword, Mounted Combat, Ride-By Attack, Mounted Archery
Favored enemy: human +2

What this doesn't have: I'd kind of like to boost Int to 14 to get extra skill points, but then again I'm not sure it's worth it. Also, if his AC is going to be low, Combat Expertise might be a good feat to pick up.

Ccamfield, if you build a rider... why not taking one more level of ranger? You could get a better mount as animal companion.

Could I? Animal companions don't level up with player levels, but with ranger levels, and it doesn't include magical beasts.

The discussion of Wild Cohort made me look up the use of Leadership as an option for attracting a special mount - I wasn't aware of this before. But I'm surprised by the... severity... of the rule for special cohorts (DMG p199): a Pegasus (CR 2) is equivalent to a 6th level cohort, and a Griffon (CR 4) is equivalent to *10th*?

Yeah, multiclassing hurts... but even some ranger levels might be useful, I never say no to Evasion for my animal companion warhorse.
