So, the game's got a lot of base classes, and a whole mess of prestige classes, across numerous sources. But for all their quantity, do they cover everything they need to? Which of these various basic character archetypes do you feel need further class-based attention, be it base or prestige?

None, I have books that cover everything on your list.

For a cleric rogue I like what Bad Axe Games did with the Hereos of High Favor Halfling book.

There are only two classes that are strongly urban in nature- rogue and cleric. I think there should be more.

I always felt the Bard had an Urban feel more so then the cleric at any rate.
I always considered the cleric more tied to his church than to his other environs.

To hijack this a bit, each class has a "flavor" to it, something that determines how it is presented and, to a lesser degree, what its abilities are. As follows: barbarian = wilderness, bard = urban, cleric = church, druid = wilderness, fighter = military, monk = church, paladin = church, ranger = wilderness, rogue = urban, sorcerer = none, wizard = academic. What would be a neat system is a way of having character classes with different flavors, like urban rangers and wilderness rogues in Unearthed Arcana extended to all classes -- noble rogues? academic barbarians? urban druids? This would eliminate the issue that this poll discusses.

But a temple is not alwaya Urban. Clerics I see like fighters, they are just to generic to tie to anything.

The summoner. Not a Conjuror, but a class devoted to summoning, and that's it. They would probably have an extraplanar pet/companion/familar, and use summoned monsters for everything. Mephits seem especially key.

True, but that can also apply to bards- they travel to all kinds of communities to spread news and make money. Either way, urban is still under represented.

Galeros- EN publishing has just put a product for tinkerers and engineers and it is pretty cool. Actually it has 3 but the most current is the best IMO for inventors and technology users.
