Which Chips (or Fries) Are the Best?

Oh dang. I can't remember the last time I saw that on a menu.
(I know what I'm making for breakfast this weekend...)

To answer your question: I'm really not sure. From what I can tell, 'hash' is a catch-all term for a potato stir-fry in my hometown (we would call that a "southwest hash" and drop the name O'Brian, because American history is awful.) and hash browns are a specific dish of shredded potatoes cooked on a griddle.

But yeah, that's a good debate also. What is the difference between a hash and a hash brown? if any?

Its much more likely to be really looong leftover attitudes from when they first arrived in the country. I'm really surprised to hear its still live anywhere at this point.

Oh, yeah, there is. Hash browns are potatoes, maybe with onions and seasonings. Add in something else, particularly a meat, and you've got a hash.

Use a binder with hash browns, like egg, and suddenly you've got a potato pancake.

More like fried potatoes since it's a bit thicker. Definitely have a nice crunch on the outside, and of course they get seasoned really well.
