Ah, but Disgruntled Player #2 is complaining because [Insert Class Name Here] was able to use Diplomacy to make the Great Wyrm his bitch... and like it!

Who are these people, and what manner of crack have they been smoking?

It's probably more of an assertion that this poll is useless... that's all I can think of, anyway. :uhoh:

Heh, if I'd thought of it I might have done so. Instead I wasted my vote on the class I actually think is the least useful*, before noticing who the OP was.

I voted Rogue: Asside from their skill points, rogue does 2 special things: Sneak Attack and Trap-Disarming.

I think the skill points thing is kind of something you don't handwave. Two extremely useful things the rogue can do that ISNT trap related or sneak attack related are...

1. Scouting without magic
2. Use Magic Device

I'd like to see that build, unless you are assuming a critical hit, in which case "meh."

Orc Fighter 6 with PHB feats appropriate to a scythe and an "all power attack all the time" attitude. With two attacks per round thats one crit every 10 rounds of fighting. Not too bad of damage even without the crit. Doesn't even need any magic gear or special conditions to pull it off, just someone to swing at.

I'd say thats pretty good at fighting.

Druid voter here.

The thing is, nature is their bag. Unfortunately, not every campaign is going to have nature as a viable resource from where the Druid can draw his or her strength.

There's nothing worse than statting up a great-looking Druid character only to discover too late that the DM's campaign revolves solely around urban espionage!

I'm willing to bet 16 people who had a druid in the party instead of a cleric and had to take reincarnation which turned them into small fluffly animals.

Only if you don't use the confirmation roll or fight very low AC opponents. Full PA all the time usually just means you whif a lot.

Like I said, meh. Everyone knows you can deal lots of damage on a crit with a scythe.

Time to make an urban druid! (dragon compendium)

Also, I think monks work better using STR. With high unarmed damage, monks can hurt things in a grapple - especially since they can get Imp Grapple as bonus feat, or fairly cheaply. Grappling is based on STR. Improved Trip as a bonus feat - also a STR based mechanic. Flurry of Blows offers extra attacks at full STR bonus to damage, unlike normal 2 weapon fighting. Obviously, without armor you can't skimp too much on Dex though.
Damn skippy. You simply cannot make a high Dexterity monk worth it in my experience. Strange as it is, Strength is your key stat, very easily, followed by Wisdom or Constitution, and call me crazy, but usually Constitution should get the nod. Charisma and Dexterity are your dump stats. Seriously.
Strength saves you a feat, shores up your grappling and tripping abilities, and helps your weaker damage.
After using a high Dexterity monk with Weapon Finesse use a high Strength monk with Improved Natural Attack and see which one is better. It will be the High Strength Monk by quite a large margin.
