Which D20 Psionic rules?

Which psionic rules do people like or use more?

I'm generally not a fan of any of the newer psionic rules that make it just another form of magic...some are better than others but I really and truly hate the 3.5 WotC...as in I cannot stand it because it's so limited -- half the powers aren't even useful, the classes aren't very inspiring (I've seen systems using one or two psionic classes total that allow for more personal input), and I'm just generally not a fan of the mechanics Wizards used...it doesn't even feel like psionics there...it feels like magic with a different name.
But then...I'm not pleased with wizards' handling of magic/OP/psionics in any of their products I've read (and then refused to buy or wished were returnable)...so if you like their ways of doing things in general please disregard me.

I specifically like the GR for psionics in my fantasy. Using a different system for psionics and magic makes them truly different. XPH is still too much like magic and it psions too much like sorcerer/wizards.

Exactly my thoughts...I vote Green Ronin.

My main interest in WotC psionics was for an alternate system of powers. But in finding that 1st. psionics was designed from the ground up to suppliment, not replace magic, left me disappointed. Beyond that in mixing the two together, it just seemed easier to make a mental-theme sorcerer than deal with power points to make a more limited character.

If XPH, changes this, let me know.

For Green Ronin, while it the default power system is lower powered, it's designed to stand on it's own. Better yet, the optional rules to increase/reduce the amout of powers a PC can do in a session really made the book for me.

The only disappointment was the few, but bad typos, in the PrC section.

GR made up for that with errata that included a new psy race though, so all's good in my book.

I don't know the Green Ronin Psychic's Handbook, but the stuff I've seen from GR is absolutely amazing. Will definitely have to check that one out, maybe finally a 3rd edition psionics ruleset, which I like. :)

Bye
Thanee
