Which d20 witch is...

Other than the "Fireball" spell on the spell list (which is easy to fix - just take a pen and cross it out*), I like the Mongoose 'Quintessential' witch a lot. I haven't seen the Green Ronin witch book, or the one from Citizen Games.

I especially like the seasonal magic.

The one in the Hunt: Rise of Evil corebook has a weird, non-standard base attack bonus progression, which I hate.

* While the traditional witch does not cast fireballs, there's a semi-famous progressive rock song about a "Fire Witch", one of those would presumably be able to throw one. And might be why it's on the list.

The only one I own is the Green Ronin witch's handbook. I love the flavor of the class, feats, spells, prestige classes, as well as the excellent optional magic rules in the book, but I agree that the spell list is too limited. It looks as if he just took the spell list in the DMG and added a few unique spells.

I'm particularly surprised that no domination or conjuration spells are on the list.

There is no need to "fix" the mongoose witch, remember there is also the "sterio-typical Warlock" and my interpretation of that does include weilding the powerfull "Energy type spells" if you have a different view then find out what your players view is and use which ever of the half dozen or so that are out there.

This class specifically I fell should have "variety" in it so using different ones in your game should not be a problem. I use 2 in my game and if I wind up getting the green rownin books then I will likley use theirs as well.:D

Variety is the spice of life.

I:eek: Shocked that Nightfall is not plugging the blood witch from R&R I.

That's because it's a Pr-class, not a core one. :) Even I'm willing to admit to something like that. Besides a core witch makes for an interesting blood witch IF you can meet the requirements. :)

I wish the person that released the netbook of witches and warlocks (i think that was it's name) would have finished the new D20 version that he (they) was working on.

That treatment of witches was probably the most comprehensive, and maybe the best I've seen. I also own the old Mayfair witches book, the Green Ronin book. I've pretty much decided that I like the GR books the best, so I usually go with them when there is a choice.

Doesn't the Wicked Witch of the West throw a fireball at one point (either in the film or the books -- been so long, I cannot recall)?

witches

I usually choose the quintessintial books over the splat books, as a whole they have more/better info and are more "balanced" IMO.

As to the post above, yes I think a fireball was thrown. that's why I like the variety of multiple witch classes to choose from.

Zaukrie,
Just so you know, the Netbook of Witches and Warlocks is in a final edit stage at the moment.
Should be released soon, just unsure how soon. lol

Good call. That'd be Crimson, right?
