I voted 3.5, which we almost exclusively use, but I have quite a few house rules (which I also had in 3.0, but I digress). I am using some of the 3.0 rules for DR, though, and the 3.0 weapon sizing rule.

Hybrid, though I probably could have just gone 3.5. We use the 3.0 weapons sizes, kept the gnome preferred class as illusionist, and something else which is escaping my mind.....

I still play 1E AD&D as well. Might as well have your cake and eat it too, if you can. No clamouring for nostalgia here, as one half of my RPG brain is still in the 70's/80's.

3.0. Its not that I don't buy books either. I typically take a sourcebook a piece at a time when allowing it into my campaign, so converting is pretty much a nonissue. There's a couple of rules that I use, but not many. I've outlined my position on this before recently - the short version is while 3.5 isn't bad it isn't good enough to warrant the $270 it would cost my group to convert. Core for me, PHB for everyone else.

Even just $90 for the core, I would rather get three suppliments with my gaming dollar than spend it on (IMO) a bunch of fixes to stuff that wasn't broken.

OD&D(1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just poor imitations of the real thing. :D

but i did buy and play the other editions.

OD&D does feel completely different... it does feel more like D&D than the new stuff does... but the new stuff is so much more fun for me...

I'm a 3.5ite. I've discarded (they're still there, just don't use) all my 3.0 material except my SSS books and any book that has a conversion document.

Hybrid. Some stuff in 3.5 was great/worthwhile. Some of it was either or both unjustifiable or counterproductive.

IMO. YMMV. See dealer for details.

I use a mixture of 3.0, 3.5 and 3.Alt (that is, AU). Only a very little from AU though, mainly for the Unfettered class which I think was excellent.

3.5, here. I'm slowly trying to update some of my supplements to work with some of the changes, like the new DR. Most of the changes to the new system I find very good, though I'm using a hybridized version of Haste.

(For the record, I use the reduced numerical bonuses, but Haste still gives an extra partial action, which cannot be used for spellcasting.)

I voted 3.5, as those are the books that I mostly use, although I have a few things the old way, so hybrid would've been a good choice too. I don't like a few things about the new rules (especially the weapon sizing) but I like the new books better because of the added content. Except that I don't like the selection of prestige classes that they added to the DMG. Duelist is okay, but the rest of the new ones are pretty 'blah' to me, as is the Shadowdancer.

Also, I agree with Hell Hound about the biased answers being annoying, and working against the point of the poll.

I voted 3.5, but think there should have been the option to say 3.0 and 3.5. Also, I intend to run an adventure for a friend of mine who is new to the 3.x mess. I'm going to use the 3.0 PHB and the 3.5 DMG and MM for the adventure. What do you guys think? How should I deal with DR?

I voted 3.5, but think that there should have been an option for 3.0 and 3.5. I have a friend who has not played either incarntaion of third edition, and I intend to run an adventure for him to get the feel of the 3.0 PHB rules, however I no longer have my 3.0 MM & DMG. Would you guys think it would be allright to use the 3.5 versions of these books with the 3.0 PHB?

EDIT: Blasted double post!
