Which is the toughest monster ever?

Tarresque is pretty freaking tough. You have to knock it uncouncious and then cast wish to kill it. It also has regeneration 40 (nothing by passes), DR 15/epic, 800 some hits, decent AC, high SR and is only CR 20. Unfortunately it can't fly. So if you just hover a couple hundred feet up you can kill it at your leisure.

I still vote the Dragon of Tyr until some one answers wether or not it kills just by casting in 3rd ed. on commentary; Yeah those kobolds can be as crafty as any assassin if their given the oportunity.

Tarrasque doesn't count.... it's meant to be unbeatable. (wimpers and remembers delivering pizza to big ol' tarrasque) he didn't even tip me after tearing my face off for topping!

I would say the prismatic dragon. It has a ton of HP and great attacks, and it's pretty. Another big monster is Cazic-Thule from the EQRPG Monsters of Norrath.
